MF DOOM’s Mm..Food Hits Career-High on Billboard 200 With 20th Anniversary Reissue

The late MF DOOM has reached a career milestone with the 20th anniversary reissue of his classic 2004 album, Mm..Food. The posthumous release, which arrived on November 15 via Rhymesayers Entertainment, has re-entered the Billboard 200 chart at an all-time high of No. 18. This marks DOOM’s highest-charting album to date, surpassing the peaks of his 2009 solo project Born Like This (No. 52) and his 2005 collaboration with Danger Mouse, The Mouse and The Mask (No. 41).

New Life for a Timeless Classic

The re-release of Mm..Food isn’t just a nostalgic look back; it includes several new additions to the iconic album. Among them is Madlib’s “One Beer (Remix),” as well as updated versions of “Hoe Cakes” by Jake One and Atmosphere’s Ant. Fans are also treated to previously unheard interview clips from 2004, where DOOM speaks with Kevin Beacham about the album’s original release, adding a personal and historical layer to the project.

The deluxe vinyl edition is a collector’s dream, featuring a bonus 7-inch picture disc with the rare original version of “Kookies” and a Just Blaze remix. The album’s revamped artwork by Sam Rodriguez gives it a fresh aesthetic while honoring the original’s legacy.

Exclusive Merch and Celebratory Releases

In addition to the music, fans can purchase exclusive Mm..Food merchandise on Gas Drawls, including an MF DOOM action figure and a cereal bowl set, a playful nod to the album’s food-themed concept.

The reissue follows the October 29 release of an authorized biography, The Chronicles of DOOM: Unraveling Rap’s Masked Iconoclast, written by veteran journalist S.H. Fernando Jr. The book provides a deep dive into DOOM’s enigmatic career, from his early days with KMD to his work with Adult Swim and his mysterious final years.

A Lasting Legacy

The enduring influence of MF DOOM is evident not just in the commercial success of the Mm..Food reissue but in the continued reverence for his artistry. Rhymesayers Entertainment’s effort to honor his work with high-quality re-releases, new collaborations, and thoughtful tributes ensures that the “Masked Villain” remains a towering figure in hip-hop.

As fans celebrate this milestone, the new Mm..Food reminds the world why MF DOOM’s unique style, wordplay, and mystique have left an indelible mark on music history.
