Cardi B Reflects on Divorce, Parties, and Upcoming Album Plans
Cardi B has been a constant figure on the party scene lately, using the nightlife as a way to cope with her ongoing divorce from Offset. However, the Bronx-born rapper recently revealed during an Instagram Live session on Sunday, November 17, that she’s ready to shift focus back to her music and personal goals.
“I feel like I been going outside [a lot],” Cardi admitted. “I have to. It’s like, I’m getting through a divorce, so I have to enjoy myself. I gotta enjoy myself, you know what I’m saying?” Despite the distractions, Cardi declared that it’s time to refocus. “No more outside! We gotta be inside. Chain us up to the muthaf**kin’ mic!”
New Music and a New Chapter
During the same Instagram Live, Cardi confirmed that her long-awaited sophomore album is now slated for release in 2025, a delay from her earlier promise of a 2024 launch. The new timeline reflects the challenges she’s faced this year, including her divorce and the arrival of her third child in September.
“I’ve been feeling so emotional lately,” she shared. “Because I know next year is going to be my fking year. This has been the most weirdest year I have ever experienced.” Reflecting on her rollercoaster journey, she added, “I fell in love. Then fell out of love, then got a divorce. I don’t know what the fk is going on. I’m going through a very different transition in my f**king life.”
Despite the emotional turmoil, Cardi remains optimistic about the future, promising that 2025 will bring not only her album but also the unveiling of secret business ventures. “Next year, my album will be out, my secret businesses will be out. I can’t tell you what I’m working on. Hopefully next year I get me a little boyfriend. I’m hoe-less right now. I gotta get my sh*t together.”
A Six-Year Wait for New Music
Cardi’s debut album, Invasion of Privacy, released in April 2018, set a high bar with chart-topping hits like Bodak Yellow and I Like It. Fans have been eagerly awaiting her second album, but the six-and-a-half-year gap has been filled with singles, collaborations, and personal milestones.
The delay in her sophomore album has been partly due to her busy life. Cardi previously committed to a 2024 release, but that plan was disrupted by her pregnancy and challenges in her marriage. Nevertheless, she’s been actively working in the studio since giving birth, signaling a renewed determination to deliver on her promise.
Cardi B’s fans remain hopeful that the star’s promise of new music in 2025 will mark a triumphant return. With her candid reflections on life’s ups and downs, she has once again shown why she’s beloved for her authenticity. As Cardi transitions into a new chapter, her dedication to her craft and her ability to balance personal growth with professional ambition continue to resonate with her audience.
For now, fans will have to wait a little longer to see what Cardi B’s next era has in store—but if her passion and confidence are any indication, it’ll be worth the wait.
