Young Thug’s Star-Studded ‘Slime Language 2’ Debuts At No. 1 On The Billboard 200! Slime Language 2, the star-studded project from Young Thug’s Young Stoner Life Records has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, earning 113,000 equivalent album units in the United States, in the week ending 22nd April, according to MRC Data. The largest majority of that sum was driven by streaming activity.
Slime Language 2 dropped on April 16 via Young Stoner Life/300. The third No. 1 for the Young Stoner Life label, Slime Language 2 follows Gunna’s Wunna that dropped in 2020 and label chief Young Thug’s So Much Fun in 2019.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the United States based on multi-metric consumption measured according to equivalent album units. Units are made of album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equates to one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or better still 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album. The new May 1st 2021-dated chart where Slime Language 2 debuts at No. 1 will be posted in full on Billboard‘s website on April 27. Out of Slime Language 2’s 113,000 equivalent album units earned in the tracking week ending April 22, streaming equivalent albums (SEA) units comprise 106,000 (equaling 142.68 million on-demand streams of the album’s tracks) while album sales comprise 6,000 whereas TEA units comprise 1,000.
The 23-track Slime Language 2 project features Young Stoner Life’s family of artists including Yak Gotti, Gunna, T-Shyne, Lil Duke, and Lil Keed, as well as acts from outside the Young Stoner Life camp, including the likes of Drake, Big Sean, Lil Uzi Vert, NAV and Future. Young Thug personally performs on more than half of the album (on 13 of the 23 tracks. Slime Language 2 becomes Young Thug’s second No. 1 album, following So Much Fun.
