A$AP Rocky Dodges Yet Another Release Date Question for Don’t Be Dumb

A$AP Rocky’s highly anticipated album, Don’t Be Dumb, remains in limbo, and the rapper is still dodging questions about when fans can expect it.
During Paris Fashion Week, the Harlem-bred rapper was asked about the album’s release while speaking with The People Gallery. His response? Another non-update.
“Don’t do me like that,” he said with a laugh. “ASAP! Listen, don’t make me do that right now, man. You gon’ get me beat up out here, bro. They on my head, bro, ’cause of questions like that.”
He then abruptly ended the conversation, saying, “I can’t even… I gotta go right now.”
A$AP Rocky Says Don’t Be Dumb Is Done—So Where Is It?
Despite Rocky’s reluctance to spill details in Paris, he did give a more promising update in a recent GQ interview.
“I’m in the mixing and mastering realm of it, but I think quite frankly, people are tired of hearing about updates about the album,” he admitted. “They’re just ready to get this sht, you know what I’m saying?”*
He acknowledged fan frustration and stated that he’s been challenging himself musically.
“The album’s done. I just want to drop it. I don’t want to keep saying what I’m going to do. I want to give people what I’ve been promising them for a long-ass f**king time.”
Rocky initially planned to release the album on August 30, 2023, before delaying it to an unspecified fall date. Now, well into 2025, the project is still nowhere to be found.
Don’t Be Dumb: Rocky’s First Album in Six Years
When Don’t Be Dumb does arrive, it will mark Rocky’s first album in six years, following 2018’s Testing. That album was met with mixed reviews, but fans have remained eager for his next effort.
Adding to the anticipation, a new snippet of Rocky rapping over a Metro Boomin beat surfaced recently. In the verse, he references his recent trial, which suggests he’s been recording fresh material:
“I wear Armani to court, your honor / Look like John Gotti in court, your honor.”
It’s unclear if this track will make the final cut, but what is clear is that Rocky is in full go mode following his trial. Now, it’s just a matter of whether fans will finally hear Don’t Be Dumb—or if they’ll have to wait even longer.
