Rapper and entrepreneur Jay-Z has totally embraced a billionaire mindset, consistently advancing his status through a spate of serious money moves. The Brooklyn native recently, partnered with Moët Hennessy, with the sole intention of promoting his “Ace Of Spades” champagne brand into a household name.
The deal attracted widespread acclamation from the rap community, with his industry collaborators like Dr. Dre and DJ Khaled celebrating Jay’s visionary mindset with congratulatory messages on social media. The 51-year-old business mogul’s recent deal has seen him sell his streaming service Tidal to Square, Inc. Earlier on he sold 50% of his champagne brand Armand de Brignac – now both deals have boosted his net worth by a whopping 40%.
According to Forbes, Jay-Z’s recent $297 million deal with Square Inc, Jack Dorsey’s mobile company, to sell a majority stake in Tidal valued the company at approximately $450 million. The deal sees Tidal’s “artist shareholders” continue to have a stake in the company with Jay-Z also owning a small percentage.
Both deals combined have seen Jay’s net worth jump from an already impressive $1 billion to a whopping $1.4billion. According to Jay-Z, this is just but the start for him. His diverse and expanding investment portfolio includes his new marijuana start-up company MONOGRAM, a 50% stake in the $300 per bottle Armand de Brignac, in addition to D’Usse cognac and other small stakes in different companies.
A breakdown of his billion-dollar net worth includes: Cash and Investments make worth $425 million, a $320 million stake in Armand de Brignac which makes up the next largest chunk of his cash. Roc Nation, D’Usse, his music catalog and his art collection make up $140 million, $120 million, $95 million, and $70 million respectively.
