Jay-Z & Kanye West’s “N***as In Paris” Inches Close To Diamond Status
Jay-Z & Kanye West’s “N***as In Paris” Inches Close To Diamond Status! JAY-Z and Kanye West’s relationship may not be that of close of friends at the moment, but their works is definitely standing the test of time. Both rappers in their own right have delivered numerous timeless classics in their respective individual careers. Their joint anthem “N***as In Paris,” has resonated well with their fans on an extremely global level.
On Wednesday (March 23), Chart Data announced that the pair’s 2011 Watch The Throne hit “N-ggas In Paris” has officially been certified 8x platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) only two million shy of diamond status. This means that the hit has now sold over eight million album-equivalent units. At this rate, Jay-Z and Kanye West are pretty much on their way to attaining a diamond plaque, which would go down in the books of history as their first time achieving the impressive sales milestone.
The elite diamond club so far boasts of only 45 songs in RIAA’s history, and “N-ggas In Paris” joins Roddy Ricch’s “The Box” in the list of recent songs that are inching closer to achieving the milestone. Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” became the newest song to achieve the milestone earlier this month. Cardi B made history as the first female rapper to have her single certified diamond. Lauryn Hill also joined the elite diamond club and received a diamond certification with her 1998 album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.)
Though it’s highly unlikely the duo will ever be making any new music together in the near future, we cannot deny the fact that their brief bid as a collaborative group continues to have a huge impact on the game to date.
Congratulations to Kanye West and Jay-Z for yet another platinum plaque.
