Cardi B Says She Wants To Become A Billion-Dollar Brand Like Jay-Z And Rihanna
Cardi B Says She Wants To Become A Billion-Dollar Brand Like Jay-Z And Rihanna! Music magnets JAY-Z and Rihanna have over the years built themselves to become two of the wealthiest self-made individuals not only in the music industry but also in the world at large. The specific business ventures Jay-Z and Rihanna have built over the years saw both artists redefine what branding is all about. Their business mindset is so impactful so much so that their peers aim to follow in their footsteps. Cardi B has recently opened up about how she aspires to become a brand like them some day.
During a recent appearance with Stationhead on Wednesday (March 18), Cardi B reflected on her rise to fame and how she didn’t have anyone to look up to when she first started in the industry.
“When I came to the game and people used to be like, ‘Who do you look up to?’”Cardi said. “I always used to say, ‘I don’t look up to nobody,’ because I didn’t really understand the game and I only feel like I got influenced by the people that was around me.”
So considering that Cardi B has now risen to become a superstar herself, her motivation to succeed has changed significantly.
“But now that I’m at the level that I’m at, one of my biggest influences is Rihanna and JAY-Z,” the Grammy Award-winning rapper revealed. “And I’m not just saying it to kiss ass or anything. I just feel like they’re so influential because Rihanna comes from a country, a Caribbean country, that my parents came from and she’s a whole billionaire.”
Cardi continued to heap praise on Rihanna saying, “But for her to make her business so big and be a billionaire, that’s what I strive to be. That’s what I want. I want to be a billion-dollar woman. I want to build a huge brand.”
As for Jay-Z, Cardi admired how the Brooklyn mogul has a strategy for every single one of his businesses. The billionaire rapper has built that mindset in his hood and the Bronx rapper says she can relate to that.
“And JAY-Z, he’s from the hood just like me,” Cardi stated. “He’s from the hood and this man’s a whole billionaire. And that’s just all about strategy and that’s just all about shaking hands, that’s just all about putting plans together.”
Though Jay-Z and Rihanna have quite a couple of years before Cardi, the “Up” rapper is quite on track towards growing a profitable brand. Over her short six-year career, Cardi B has managed to do collabs with such brands as Pepsi, Steve Madden, Lyft, Fashion Nova, and most recently, Reebok.
