Lil Durk & Kehlani Link Up For Latest “Love You Too” Single…Out Now
While he’s fresh off the release of his latest The Voice (Deluxe) album and his music video drop for “Kanye Krazy” that displays him comically mimicking some of Kanye West‘s craziest career moments, Lil Durk still couldn’t wait any longer to drop new material. And now, the on-the-rise rapper has tapped Kehlani for a new heartfelt tune dubbed “Love You Too” just in time for Valentine’s Day week.
This marks the first occasion that the Englewood-born MC and the Bay Area’s sweet and sexy savage have synced up together for a song collaboration. And while the track’s moniker is suggestive of a lovey-dovey story to tell, its eerie-yet-powerful bass drops in the background can certainly bewilder listeners in portraying that. Lil Durk opens up the track and mixes things up between slow and medium-paced bars, and sandwiches a few belts of auto-tuned high notes in between. Around the 1:40 mark, Kehlani takes over and blesses our ears with her angelic voice and sensual tone for the remainder of the song. (Hypebeast)
After making waves among critics and long-time fans, Lil Durk released a deluxe version of this critically acclaimed album, The Voice. With over ten additional tracks, the veteran Drill star keeps his heart on the pulse of the culture with a rousing intro reminding listeners why they call the Chicago native “The Voice.” Throughout the deluxe version of The Voice, fans will see the evolution of Durk as he glides through harmonious storytelling (“Let Em Know”) and keeps heartfelt jams for the lovers out there (“Every Freakin Day”).
Released on Christmas Eve, The Voice debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 200 and reigned at the top of the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Album Chart for five weeks. Durk closed his 2020 at the top thanks to the release of Just Cause Y’all Waited II, earning his largest commercial debut to date with over 40 million global streams. He also teamed up with Drake for “Laugh Now Cry Later” which gained two Grammy nominations including Best Rap Song and Best Melodic Rap Performance.
