Drakeo The Ruler Enlists Drake For “Talk To Me” Drakeo The Ruler unleashed his new The Truth Hurts mixtape yesterday morning (Wednesday Feb. 24), and it includes the silky smooth Drake collab, “Talk to Me.” The easy going track opens with Drake in a classic crooner mood, using his glamour to make a woman that he’s the one that she wants.

“I don’t know if what we have is love, but it’s on my mind/ We might slide on a n—a inside this club, girl, close your eyes/ Fifteen brothers, no friends when I pull up, for peace of smind/ Lights come on, I’ma need you to come find me, don’t be so shy,” Drake sings over the minimal tick-tock beat. He brings his desire home on the chorus, singing, “‘Cause I know you want me girl/ ‘Cause I know you want me girl.”

Drakeo delivers the second verse, dropping his own moves in his signature melodious, rough-edged voice, “Don’t be shy, I got killers with me, stupid/ I march with sticks, I ain’t worried ’bout no groupies/ I know you want me ’cause your BD is a goofy/ Boss you up, your lifestyle could be exclusive/ But I don’t know, ’cause you be hangin’ ’round with losers.”

The 17-track The Truth Hurts becomes rapper Drakeo’s first release after last year’s Thank You For Using GTL and it accompanies his release in November after a 34-month bid in jail on a controversial murder charge. The collection features additional guest appearances from Icewear Vezzo, Don Toliver and Stinc Team members Ketchy the Great and Ralfy the Plug.

“I think about everything that I have gone through, and I’m motivated never to go back to jail,” Drakeo said in a statement. “It’s been fun. I’m dealing with cars, jewelry — all the stuff I imagined doing while I was in jail and couldn’t do. Now I’ve got a song with Drake.” The rapper stated that he and Drake were planning a potential collab for years, but his sentence interrupted it all.

Drake hit me up, and we made it happen,” Drakeo talked about their early 2021 session. “There’s a lot of people that have worked their whole careers to get songs from him.”
