50 Cent Censured Over Mask-less Super Bowl Party! 50 Cent was the headliner for a private Super Bowl 55 party in a hangar at Albert Whitted Airport Friday night (Feb. 5). However according to photos posted by TMZ the day after on their website show a crowded, mask-less event held amid the COVID-19 pandemic. several musicians hosted concerts and parties on Friday in and around the Tampa, Florida in anticipation of the annual sporting event.
Despite many of the events having been advertised as being COVID-conscious, strict regulations were not observed. Iit was clear tht not even the pandemic was going to stand in the way of the various pre-Super Bowl celebrations.
50 Cent faced backlash from St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman following the incident. The mayor took to twitter Saturday expressing his displeasure with the TV mogul and hinted that fines may be imminent.
“This isn’t how we should be celebrating the Super Bowl,” Kriseman tweeted. “It’s not safe or smart. It’s stupid. We’re going to take a very close look at this, and it may end up costing someone a lot more than 50 cent.”
The mayor’s spokesman revealed to Tampa Bay Times in an email that the party and the role of the airport management company is under investigation by city officials. However, no more information has been released since.
The St. Petersburg event hosted by 50 Cent and Tampa’s DJ Fresh was reportedly supposed to be “limited capacity” with masks required. According to TMZ, admission started at $85 to $7,000 for a single table.

More reports by TMZ revealed that DJ Steve Aoki hosted a pool party at the WTR Pool & Grill at The Godfrey Hotel Tampa off the Courtney Campbell Causeway Friday night. That party was also packed and mostly mask-less, as Aoki sprayed guests with champagne.
