The Brooklyn rapper in collaboration with Funk Flex released “Re-Route” his first single since being released from Prison in December last year. The record which premiered in December wasn’t released until last Friday (Jan 22). The rapper took to social media recently revealing that Lil Uzi Vert and himself were working on something. He went ahead to share a screenshot of himself and Lil Uzi on Facetime and alluded to the fact that they already had something recorded. He used the opportunity to drum up support for his latest hit with Funk Flex. “Get ‘Reroute’ til [sic] 500K views… Me & Lil Uzi Vert dropping next week,” he captioned the post.
The amount of music that Rowdy is probably sitting is humongous and that’s for sure. He was back in studio working on new music the minute he was released from prison. Following the release of his new single “REROUTE,” he took to Instagram to announce his return.
“GLLTTT BOW BOW BOW … 6YRS I WAITED TO GET MY MOMENT BACC THEY LET THE BULLY OUT,” the artist wrote. “ITS FULL THROTTLE FROM HERE, MORE MUSIC TO COME GO RUN THAT UP.”
Rowdy was initially arrested in 2014 alongside Bobby Shmurda, and their fellow GS9 affiliates for a variety of charges, including murder, drugs, conspiracy, and weapons possession. Back in September 2016, Rowdy Rebel and Bobby Shmurda pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess weapons and possession of a weapon charges.
