Eminem Releases “Higher” Video! Eminem debuted the video for his song “Higher” on ABC during ESPN’s UFC 257 Countdown: Poirier vs. McGregor 2 pre-show. The video clip for the Music To Be Murdered By – Side B track features footage from ESPN’s coverage of the Ultimate Fighting Championship alongside Eminem in a boxing ring performing the song .
In the video, the rapper is cast as fighter getting ready for battle against his own demons, with the world of UFC a backdrop for the action. The video features UFC’s Dana White and ESPN’s Michael Eaves in a mock interview before the rapper’s big fight.
The video debuted on Saturday (Jan. 23), on the pre-show by ESPN for the mixed martial arts event, which was aired live, from Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. The UFC has held several of its PPV shows since the COVID-19 pandemic struck in March 2020, in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. The main event was the Conor McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier fight, a rematch of their 2014 fight- McGregor having won by TKO, in the first round.
“It’s always been amazing to be able to work with Eminem for promotional and programming content on various ESPN properties over the years,” Kevin Wilson, ESPN music director said in a statement. “To be able to work on this video together with his team – not only featuring our team’s great UFC coverage but also debuting it exclusively on ABC, is just invaluable.” He added.
Eminem released Music To Be Murdered By – Side B, an expanded version of his 11th studio album, in December last year. He made a cameo in an SNL skit spoofing his 2000 hit “Stan,” in the same month. He shared his first-ever collaboration with Kid Cudi in July, “The Adventures of Moon Man & Slim Shady.”
