Card B Criticized After Shielding Toddler From Sexually Explicit – WAP Hit Song – Cardi B came under attack this week after shielding her toddler daughter from explicitly sexual music.
In a video that went viral, the rapper was dancing to her hit song WAP – when her two-year-old daughter Kulture walked into the room. In the video, Cardi B in a panicky mood can be seen turning off the song. The song has been denounced for its sexually explicit lyrics.
Cardi was on the receiving end of tornados of vituperation and backlash following the incident. People criticized her for making a song that her “daughter can’t listen to” but “everybody else’s daughter can”.
“So ya daughter cant listen to it but everybody else’s daughter can ?” @Mo_fierce wrote. She also tagged Cardi in the tweet, and accused the rapper of having an “agenda” to promote her record label.
The rapper responded in a separate tweet asking fans to “stop with this already”
Her subsequent tweet went as follows;
This isn’t the first time the Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s hit single comes under fire.
The hit saw conservative pundit Ben Shapiro condemn its lyrics shortly after the music video premired in August 2020. He said “This is what feminists fought for. This is what the feminist movement was all about, and if you say anything differently it’s ’cause you’re a misogynist, see?”
The Song also caught the attention of James Bradley, a Republican currently running for California Congress.
“#WAP (which i heard accidentally) made me want to pour holy water in my ears and I feel sorry for future girls if this is their role model!” Bradley wrote.
