Gunna Thanks Fans for Their Loyalty Amid Past Controversies

Gunna is expressing deep gratitude to his fans for standing by him through the legal battles and controversies that have surrounded him in recent years. In a recent sit-down interview with will.i.am for Uproxx, the Atlanta rapper opened up about how much his supporters mean to him, especially following his incarceration and the fallout with YSL.
When asked by the Black Eyed Peas frontman about the reception he received upon returning to live performances after jail, Gunna didn’t hold back on his emotions. “It’s one of the best feelings in the world, that I’ll never forget. I never take it for granted,” he said. “I can just go back to that time and be like, ‘Man, my fans really came through for me.’ It was about me but it was really about them showing up for me. I got die-hard fans, for sure.”
Gunna also offered an encouraging and heartfelt message directly to his supporters. “First, thank you for being with me. And never give up. Don’t stop, especially when they want you to stop. Really keep going then. That’s when you really, really push. Pray until something happens. A lot of things will pull you down or get in your way… but when you get over the hump, you feel stronger.”
Since agreeing to a plea deal in late 2022, Gunna has faced ongoing criticism and accusations of snitching from some corners of the rap community. These rumors intensified after the details of the YSL RICO case became public. However, his former attorney, Steve Sadow, previously stepped in to clarify the situation, putting the rumors to rest.
In a lengthy statement, Sadow defended his former client’s actions. “I was Gunna’s attorney but I am NOT speaking on his behalf. This long post is solely to set out the truth. Gunna did NOT cooperate, and did NOTHING and said NOTHING to cause harm to Thug’s case,” Sadow wrote. He went on to explain that Gunna spent eight months behind bars before being released after entering an Alford plea, which allowed him to maintain his innocence while acknowledging that the prosecution had enough evidence for a conviction.
Sadow added that Gunna’s plea had no impact on Young Thug’s trial. “He received a 5-year suspended sentence, with no reporting, no travel restrictions, no living restrictions, AND NO PROBATION,” Sadow clarified.
In the two years since his release, Gunna has performed on global stages, grown his international fan base, and continued to climb the charts with hit records like “Fukumean.” Meanwhile, Young Thug has faced a much harsher reality, with a lengthy probation sentence and strict living conditions following his trial outcome.
Despite the noise, Gunna remains focused on his music and his fans, pushing forward with a renewed sense of gratitude and determination.
