G Herbo Bought His Old Elementary School And Turned It Into A Youth Center. G Herbo is big on showing love for the city that raised him. the rapper partakes in a number of community services acts and he is surely making a difference in the lives of young people. Just a few years ago the rapper has bought his old elementary school and turned it into a youth center.

G Herbo purchased the building of his former school. Overton Elementary school. He bought the school in 2018 after the school had shut down in 2013 due to the wave of public schools closing. Herbo came in and joined in a major project that helped turn the school into a youth center.

The set up youth center also now serves as a music incubator and a media lab for kids. The recent many initiatives by the rapper take place at the youth center which is at Overton Elementary in Chicago. The rappers aim is to make the hood great again in the many ways he is helping the youth form his hometown and hood.

The “PTSD” rapper is now stranger to helping his community he has started a number of initiatives such as the “Swervin Through Stress: Tools To Help Black Youth Navigate Mental wellness”, with the aim to provide therapeutic resources for young adults who have experienced trauma.

The most recent community projects he has worked on is aback to school drive, where he has given kids back packs with school supplies and free shoes. Just this past Saturday the 19th of September he has now also held a peace walk with other Chicago rappers Vic Mensa and Chance The Rapper. The 3 held a walk and also enabled the community to get free COVID 19 testing, they also gave people an opportunity to register to vote.
