The NYPD Tried To Get Pop Smoke To Rat Out Notorious Gang Members Months Before His Death. Pop Smoke just a few months before his death was requested by the New York Police Department (NYPD) to snitch on members of the notorious gang group the Crips.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) used Pop Smoke’s pending legal charges as ways to get information from him. The rapper had been arrested for allegedly possessing stolen Rolls Royce Wraith. Later then he was spotted driving by the same building where the the Crips gang members had a shooting, the authorities felt that he would have information on them or about the shooting.

It was later reported that the ‘Dior’ rapper refused to give the NYPD any information. The police continued to pressure Pop to give them information about the 823 Crips, GS9 and other Brooklyn street gangs, he remained silent and refused to talk. Pop Smoke’s lawyer then shared that the rapper is not willing to have long conversations with the police and he would not entertain giving them information.

The NYPD was unsuccessful in trying to get the deceased rapper to snitch. During the time he had been held in prison he posted a $250k bonf and agreed to stay away from known gang members and to also submit drug tests to US pretrial services as part of his conditions. Pop was not allowed to perform at the “BK Drip Concert’ as several gang members were said to attend the concert.

Pop Smoke has shown that he is not part of any gang activity, regardless of the fact that he possessed a stolen car. In his time of his December 2019 arrest he had his lawyer defend him for the necessary related issue and did not want to partake in any means of assisting the authorities catch out people. His death has also been proved that it was not due to gang activity.
