Ja Rule Reflects on Rivalry with 50 Cent, Says He’s Rooting for His Former Foe

Ja Rule recently addressed his longstanding feud with 50 Cent during an appearance on the 7PM in Brooklyn podcast. The rapper discussed the history of their rivalry, claiming he considers himself the “better rapper,” while emphasizing that he is not interested in fueling negativity.
During the conversation, Ja Rule highlighted the common perception that fans must choose between him and 50 Cent. “But you don’t though,” he said, as reported by Complex. “I know how fans see it but you really don’t. At the end of the day, you’ve gotta kinda love both or you gotta kinda respect both. You gotta appreciate both, and that’s just what it is. … He has a take on it that was his take.”
Ja Rule went further, asserting his confidence in his music. “I feel like I was the better rapper. I felt like I made the better records. I feel like my records aged better, still. So that’s how I feel inside. I don’t know how everybody else feels.”
The conversation also touched on the possibility of reconciliation or collaboration between the two artists. Ja Rule explained that they have never worked together or been friends, saying, “We’ve never done a record together. We’ve never been friends, so I don’t know why people wanna see that.”
He connected his perspective on his feud with 50 Cent to recent disputes in the hip-hop community, including the viral Kendrick Lamar and Drake feud. “That’s why I don’t sit here and promote the negativity between me and 50,” Ja said. “I don’t give a fck about that sht. I wish that Black man luck, man. Go ahead and do you, man. Get your money, man. But do right, do better. Because all you do is fcking sht on other Black people too. That’s all he does.”
As of now, 50 Cent has not responded publicly to Ja Rule’s remarks. Ja Rule’s comments signal a shift toward respect and perspective, showing that old rivalries do not have to define relationships in hip-hop.
