Max B Announces ‘Charly’ EP As His Prison Release Date Nears

Max B will be dropping at least one more project before he gets out of prison in 2021. After releasing his House Money EP in December 2019, the incarcerated rapper has announced his new plan to release a new five-track set titled Charly. The EP is said to be due by 5 July 2020.

Max B then proceeded to say the following in an interview, “I wanted to give the fans and the people of the world something that would make them feel good in this time of turmoil. “Charly is my growth. It’s the man, the artist, the CEO, the Eloquent Music God, the father, the lover, all in one place.”

In mid 2009, Max was sentenced to 75 years in prison on conspiracy charges pertaining to armed robbery, kidnapping, aggravated assault and felony murder. While in prison, he secured a deal with Amalgam Digital to publish his debut album Vigilante Season which was released in 2011. On September 16, 2016, it was announced that Max B took a 20-year plea bargain for aggravated manslaughter and was set to be released on July 1, 2029. In July 2019, Max B had his sentence reduced from 20 years to 12 years. He is scheduled to be released sometime in 2021.
