Hip-Hop Mourns the Tragic Loss of THF Bayzoo

The hip-hop community is reeling after the shocking death of THF Bayzoo, who was reportedly shot and killed by two armed men in Chicago’s Little Village area on Saturday, October 25. The 35-year-old artist worked closely with OTF members Lil Durk and King Von, building a reputation as a key figure in the Chicago rap scene.
Since news of his passing, numerous rappers have shared heartfelt tributes. 21 Savage posted several Instagram Story images highlighting their close relationship. One image, captured by No Jumper, shows a partially visible text conversation between the two. The Atlanta rapper wrote, “[We] sit on the phone every other night,” accompanied by three broken heart emojis.
Just days before his death, Bayzoo wished 21 Savage a happy 33rd birthday, writing, “Happy earth [Earth emoji] Day Brada 4L [dagger emoji] Love u breed.” Savage responded the following day with, “Man call me,” and later posted a picture of Bayzoo with the caption, “Dam thug,” alongside three broken heart emojis.
Details surrounding the shooting indicate that it occurred around 3 p.m., according to ABC7 Eyewitness News. Bayzoo was shot multiple times and rushed to Mount Sinai Medical Center, where he remained in critical condition for several hours before succumbing to his injuries. Authorities have confirmed that an investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
Other OTF members also expressed their grief. Doodie Lo shared a tribute, writing, “MY BFF MY BRUDDA MY DAWG TAUGHT ME ALOT THIS ONE HURT WOP MAN EVERYTHING KNOW OUR RELATIONSHIP I GOT YO KIDS FOR LIFE WHEN I GOT SHOT YOU JUMPED ON THE ROAD NO QUESTIONS.”
