Playboi Carti Shines on The Weeknd’s After Hours Til Dawn Tour

Playboi Carti has been opening for The Weeknd on his After Hours Til Dawn Tour since May, showcasing a growing partnership between the two artists. Fans are familiar with their collaborations, most notably “Timeless,” a standout track from The Weeknd’s latest album, Hurry Up Tomorrow. Carti’s opening sets have typically been brief, often solo performances, but they have consistently energized audiences.
On August 16, the tour stopped in Miami, where Carti added extra excitement to his set. He brought out Opium signees Ken Carson and Homixide Gang to join him for “EVIL J0RDAN.” The surprise appearance amplified fan energy both in the arena and online, sparking speculation about a potential Opium tour after The Weeknd’s tour concludes in a few weeks. The tour spans 110 dates across four calendar years, marking one of the longest-running tours in recent memory.
Carti and the Opium artists were not the only notable guests that night. The Weeknd brought out Future during his 42-song set to perform “Low Life,” a track from Future’s 2016 album Evol. Future also appears on Hurry Up Tomorrow, though he and The Weeknd did not perform “Enjoy The Show” together.
The tour has achieved enormous commercial success. According to Touring Data, it has already crossed the $500 million mark with 84 shows reported out of 103 completed. With seven shows remaining, it is on track to enter the list of the 10 highest-grossing tours of all time. Carti’s performances have contributed to this success, demonstrating his ability to command a live audience even in short sets.
As The Weeknd’s tour nears its conclusion, Carti appears ready to leverage this momentum for his next project. Fans are eager to see whether he will continue collaborating with his Opium signees and what new music he will release in the coming months.
