Drake Builds Anticipation For New Album “Iceman” Amid Mixed Early Reactions

Drake is building anticipation for his upcoming album, “Iceman,” with fresh insights into the recording process and bold claims about the project’s content.
The hip hop superstar recently went live on Kick alongside streamer Adin Ross, Twitch star xQc, and longtime collaborator PartyNextDoor. During the livestream, Drake shared details about creating “Iceman.” He said, “I’ll stay up all night recording for Iceman. They’re having a full blown party outside. I can hear people having a street festival all day. I’ll go out there. I’ll run out there. I’ll turn up with them, do shots, come back—like, I just want a little, you know, I wanna feel it.”
Drake confidently described the album as having “too many bangers.” He also posted recent photos from his first European tour in six years, captioning one, “Tired…too many bangers.”
Despite the excitement, “Iceman” has no confirmed release date or official track list yet. Drake has dropped two singles from the project so far.
The latest single, “Which One?,” a collaboration with British rapper Central Cee, debuted at number 23 on the Billboard charts. Initially expected to land in the top 10, the track lost momentum in streaming and became Drake’s worst charting official single since 2017’s “Signs.”
The album’s lead single, “What Did I Miss?,” also saw a decline. It debuted at number two but fell outside the top 30 after four weeks on the chart.
At a recent tour stop in the Netherlands, Drake addressed his reputation. Speaking to the sold-out crowd, he said, “I didn’t get here by being a piece of shit, I didn’t get here by being a snake, I didn’t get here by being a dickhead. I got here by being good to people, being nice to people, and my karma is straight. That’s why I’m still on stage in 2025.”
Drake’s new album “Iceman” remains one of the most anticipated releases of the year. Fans await more details and hope the final project matches his promise of delivering “too many bangers.”
