Dame Dash Channels Creativity on TikTok Amid Legal Troubles, Drops New Album 365

Despite facing a multi-layered legal battle that threatens his assets and intellectual property, the music mogul is pushing forward with his creative endeavors. His latest project, 365 — a rock-inspired album made in collaboration with his band The Black Guns and rapper Freeway — is at the heart of his renewed artistic drive.
In an unexpected move, Dash has embraced TikTok, a platform often far removed from his traditional business persona. To promote 365, he and his fiancée Raquel Horn jumped on the trending “Say Something Nice” challenge. In the lighthearted clip, Horn playfully urges viewers to keep things kind before handing over the spotlight. Dash, always confident, takes the opportunity to introduce the album.
“I’m usually a businessman,” he says in the video, “but I wanted to be an artist and pay homage to real rock and roll. We did a rock record called 365. I’m proud of it.”
The move signals a significant shift for Dash, who has long been known for his old-school, no-nonsense attitude in the entertainment business. With this new effort, he appears to be targeting a younger, more digitally engaged audience — a demographic he’s rarely courted so directly in the past.
Yet behind the scenes, the stakes couldn’t be higher. Dash is currently embroiled in a legal and financial crisis that has brought his empire under scrutiny. According to court documents, Dash and his company Poppington LLC are under orders to transfer ownership of several ventures, including Dash Films Inc., Bluroc LLC, and Blakroc LLC. Additional holdings like Ocean East Improvements LLC and 1996 Songs LLC are also on the chopping block.
Perhaps most damaging, the court may seize his intellectual property, including copyrights to his films. The judge gave Dash until June 16 to object to the motion. Without those objections, federal officials are expected to begin auctioning his assets within 180 days to satisfy outstanding debts — a sum that could exceed $800,000.
While the pressure mounts in the courtroom, Dash is choosing to stay the course creatively. 365 represents more than a musical experiment — it’s a declaration of resilience. The album channels rock and hip-hop influences, blending Dash’s vision with Freeway’s lyrical grit and the energy of The Black Guns.
