Kanye West Admits He “Dreams” of Apologizing to JAY-Z After Controversial Rants

Kanye West has made a surprising and emotional admission about his long-standing tension with JAY-Z, revealing that he dreams of making amends with the rap icon. In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), the Chicago rapper opened up about his desire to reconcile, writing, “All my dreams have been about apologizing to Jay Z.”

This brief but impactful message marks a rare moment of vulnerability from West, especially considering the bitter history between him and JAY-Z in recent years. While their relationship was once built on mutual admiration and creative collaboration, it has been repeatedly strained by public outbursts, harsh comments, and deeply personal attacks.

Earlier this year, West sparked outrage with a series of social media posts in which he insulted JAY-Z and Beyoncé’s children, particularly their twins, Rumi and Sir. In one now-deleted post, West wrote, “WAIT HAS ANYONE EVER SEEN JAY Z AND BEYONCES YOUNGER KIDS. THEY’RE RETARDED. NO LIKE LITERALLY. AND THIS IS WHY ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION IS A BLESSING. HAVING RETARDED CHILDREN IS A CHOICE.”

The post was widely condemned for its offensive language and personal nature. West later claimed that he took it down to avoid suspension from the platform, saying: “I TOOK IT DOWN LIKE DOWN SYNDROME. GET IT. AM I RIGHT. F*** THE WORLD.” Despite deleting the tweet, West doubled down on his comments in follow-up posts, stating: “IF TWITTER TAKE MY SHIT DOWN THEN SO BE IT BUT I NEED Y’ALL TO KNOW JAY Z OR NOBODY HAVE NO POWER OVER ME.”

West’s tirade didn’t end there. He went on to say: “AT LEAST JAY Z AND BEYONCÉ GET TO RAISE THEIR RETARDED ASS KIDS,” and continued criticizing other celebrities for not publicly supporting him in his custody battle with Kim Kardashian. “AIN’T NO CELEBRITY EVER SAID NOTHING TO COME TO MY AID WHEN IT CAME TO THESE WHITE WOMEN TAKING MY KIDS. CAUSE THEY WAS MAD I WAS WEARING TRUMP HAT. F*** JAY Z AND HIS WHOLE FAMILY. ESPECIALLY HIS SHOOTERS.”

In his final post on the matter, West appeared to reflect on the backlash but stood by his comments: “CONCERNING THE JAY Z AND BEYONCÉ TWEET N****S SAID I WOULD REGRET IT. NOOOO. I REGRET TAKING IT DOWN. MY TWITTER IS A ONE WAY CONVERSION.”

Despite the extreme nature of his remarks, West’s recent message about dreaming of apologizing signals a possible shift in his perspective. The two artists have shared a complex relationship over the years—JAY-Z once served as a mentor to West, and their collaborations helped shape the sound of early 2000s hip-hop. Their bond was once so close that West referred to Beyoncé and JAY-Z as family.

While JAY-Z has not publicly responded to West’s attacks or his new post expressing remorse, fans are hopeful that the two icons might one day reconcile. Given their history and cultural impact, a truce between them would mark a significant moment in hip-hop and offer a powerful lesson about accountability and forgiveness.

For now, West’s admission—though brief—may be the first step toward healing one of the most talked-about rifts in music. Whether JAY-Z is open to accepting that apology remains to be seen.
