Drake Kicks Off Anita Max Win Tour in Australia with Emotional Speech

Drake has officially launched his highly anticipated Anita Max Win tour in Australia, captivating fans with an electrifying performance and an emotional speech to close out the first night. The tour began on Tuesday, February 4, in Perth, where the Canadian rap superstar delivered heartfelt words to a sold-out crowd, reflecting on his nearly two-decade-long career.

“My name is Drake. I started doing music in 2008,” he told the audience. “I come all the way from Toronto, Canada. The year is now 2025, and no matter what, Drizzy Drake is very much alive and that’s all thanks to you. I love you.”

Drake also used the moment to plug his upcoming collaborative album with PARTYNEXTDOOR, set for release on Valentine’s Day, February 14. He concluded his speech with a message of positivity and caution, saying, “It’s too many f—ing weird things going on out here, so make sure you take care of each other.”

The Anita Max Win tour continues with stops in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane before concluding in Auckland, New Zealand, on March 16.

A Tour Name with a Twist

Drake, known for his love of gambling, named the tour as a play on the phrase “I need a max win.” Last month, he debuted an iced-out mascot of Anita Max Win, designed by celebrity jeweler Jason of Beverly Hills. The extravagant pendant contains 3 kilos of gold and over 250 carats of flawless diamonds, complete with a hidden compartment revealing the Toronto skyline and the tour dates engraved on the back.

Jason shared the meaning behind the piece, saying, “Just as the cartoon holds more meaning than meets the eye, so does the pendant.”

Drake’s Resilience in the Face of Criticism

Drake’s tour comes after a challenging 2024, during which he faced a highly publicized rap feud with Kendrick Lamar. Kendrick emerged victorious in what many have dubbed a “rap battle for the ages,” but Drake’s speech in Perth makes it clear that he remains undeterred and focused on his craft.

Kanye West recently weighed in on the feud during an interview with Justin LaBoy, stating, “You can’t ever count out Steph Curry. That man might get 200 points in one song.” Kanye also praised Drake’s contributions to rap, saying, “Drake added something to the algorithm. He advanced it, Future advanced it, and now Kendrick is advancing the frequency.”

Looking Ahead

Drake’s Anita Max Win tour is poised to be a massive success, and his collaboration with PARTYNEXTDOOR adds another layer of excitement for fans. Despite past challenges, Drake’s passion, artistry, and connection with his audience remain stronger than ever.

With his opening night in Perth setting the tone, the Anita Max Win tour is shaping up to be a celebration of Drake’s legacy and a reminder of why he continues to dominate the music industry. Fans can look forward to more unforgettable performances and, of course, his highly anticipated Valentine’s Day release.
