Will.i.am and D-Nice Launch Star-Studded Livestream to Support L.A. Wildfire Victims

In response to the devastating wildfires sweeping through Los Angeles, will.i.am, D-Nice, and a team of community leaders are rallying to provide relief through a special livestream event, L.A. Check In. The benefit, modeled after D-Nice’s iconic Club Quarantine series, will feature uplifting DJ sets, surprise celebrity appearances, and heartfelt stories of resilience.

A Virtual Effort for Real-World Impact

L.A. Check In, organized in partnership with the Annenberg Foundation, will.i.am’s i.am Angel Foundation, and actor-philanthropist Etienne Maurice, is more than just a virtual dance party. Broadcasting live from will.i.am’s FYI Campus on Thursday, January 16, at 6 p.m. PT, the event will provide critical updates for wildfire victims, encourage donations to relief efforts, and foster a sense of hope in the City of Angels.

Viewers can tune in via will.i.am’s YouTube channel and D-Nice’s Instagram page to join the star-studded event.

Uplifting the Community

“Families and students across the city urgently need our support as many lives have been disrupted, including losing everything in the fires,” will.i.am emphasized in a press release.

D-Nice added: “L.A. Check In will leverage Los Angeles’ star power while reminding one another of the resilience we build and have in each other.”

DJ Hed, who will also perform, highlighted the unifying power of such initiatives. “When disaster strikes, it reminds us that despite our differences, we’re all in this together. This event is just another beam of light we hope to shine into a dark time.”

The Toll of the Wildfires

The wildfires, which erupted last week, have claimed at least 25 lives and destroyed thousands of homes, schools, and businesses. Nearly 180,000 residents have been forced to evacuate, and the destruction has left communities grappling with profound loss.

Several local figures, including The Game and Snoop Dogg, have already stepped in to provide aid. The Game has been directly assisting firefighters on the frontlines, while Snoop Dogg revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that he’s actively working to ensure resources reach those in need.

A Beacon of Hope

L.A. Check In aims to bring the city together during this crisis, offering music, connection, and practical support for those affected by the fires. As DJ Hed put it, “Nothing is going to repair the sentimental damage suffered, but through this, we hope to assist as many as we can as a team.”

The event serves as a reminder of the resilience and compassion that defines Los Angeles. Together, through music and solidarity, the city can begin to heal.
