Lil Uzi Vert Faces Backlash After Eternal Atake 2 Release; JT Defends Him Against Critics

Lil Uzi Vert’s stock has taken a significant dip following the release of their album Eternal Atake 2, with the rapper receiving widespread criticism from fans. The album, which was meant to follow up the successful Eternal Atake (2020), failed to live up to expectations, leaving listeners disappointed. On top of that, Uzi’s decision to rebrand artwork from their past mixtapes on streaming services did not sit well with fans, further fueling the backlash. Some fans even compiled screenshots of EPs that rearranged songs from the PINK TAPE, accusing Uzi of attempting to repurpose older content.

Amidst the criticism, Uzi’s girlfriend, JT of the City Girls, quickly came to his defense, responding to a particularly harsh Twitter user who slammed the rapper’s rebranding decision. The fan, baffled by the reorganization of songs, called it “embarrassing” and questioned whose idea it was. JT, ever the protector, didn’t hesitate to respond, calling out the fan for attacking a release from 2023. “Y’all btches are annoying,” JT wrote. “Every day looking for new ways to make ppl come at him.” She then demanded, “Get off his dck. Sht dropped over a year ago, bored as b*tches.”

This isn’t the first time JT has defended Uzi against online trolls. Earlier, when Uzi’s performance at Coachella garnered mockery for their eccentric dance moves, JT took to social media once again to set the record straight. Fans had flooded her comments, asking for an explanation of Uzi’s quirky dancing. JT didn’t hold back, telling one critic, “You actually need edges” and questioning why people were so obsessed with Uzi’s personal expression, asking, “What is it to you?”

The support hasn’t stopped there. Back in October 2022, when fans ridiculed Uzi for getting a belly button ring, JT once again took to Twitter, defending her man. “That’s BEEN his aesthetic before me,” she clarified. “He’s a black rockstar that does what he wants!” Her unwavering support highlights her loyalty to Uzi, regardless of public opinion.

As Lil Uzi Vert’s latest album faces a lukewarm reception, JT’s consistent defense of him shows just how strong their relationship is, with the City Girls star always stepping in to shield Uzi from the harshest of critics. Given her history of defending her man, it’s clear that JT won’t be backing down from standing up for Uzi anytime soon.
