Kanye West Announces First-Ever India Tour Amid Controversy

Kanye West remains one of the most polarizing figures in music. Despite facing widespread backlash for antisemitic remarks and controversial behavior, his global fanbase remains loyal. Recently, it was announced that West plans to perform in India for the first time, giving his Indian fans a live experience later this year.

According to India Today, the tour is set to begin in April, although specific dates, venues, and ticket details have not yet been released. West has a history with India, having spent time there in 2009 on a spiritual retreat. He also visited Mumbai in 2012 to promote his clothing brand, staying at the iconic Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.

This announcement comes after a series of international setbacks. Several venues worldwide have canceled his performances due to public protests over his actions and statements. Slovakia’s Rubicon Festival, planned for July 2026, was canceled entirely after backlash over his inclusion in the lineup. Similarly, a South Korea concert scheduled for May was canceled following the release of his track “Heil Hitler.”

Fans can expect more than live performances. Kanye West is preparing to release his new album, Bully, on January 30. The album is available for pre-save on Spotify and has already garnered roughly 500,000 pre-saves, making it the fourth-most pre-saved album on the platform. It trails only Joji’s Piss In The Wind, Gorillaz’s The Mountain, and Charli XCX’s Wuthering Heights soundtrack.

The recently revealed tracklist includes titles such as “Preacher Man,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Last Breath,” “Damn,” and “White Lines.” Fans are eagerly anticipating the release, which promises to showcase West’s signature style and provocative themes.

With a highly anticipated album and a first-ever tour in India, Kanye West continues to capture attention despite his controversies, maintaining a strong following worldwide.
