Don Toliver Delivers New Singles on Jimmy Fallon Ahead of “OCTANE” Release

Don Toliver appeared as the musical guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, performing two new singles ahead of his upcoming studio album, OCTANE. The rapper treated viewers to “E85” and “Long Way To Calabasas,” showcasing his signature melodic flow and introspective lyrics. On “E85,” he raps about love and connection, delivering lines like, “On the highway and I’m thinkin’ that I love her / On the highway and I’m thinkin’ there ain’t no other / On the highway with my significant lover.” In contrast, “Long Way To Calabasas” takes a slower, emotional tone, with Toliver crooning, “I guess it’s you that I really did care for / Hard to get you out of my head.”
Fans reacted positively after clips of the performance were shared on X (formerly Twitter). Many praised Toliver’s consistency and artistry, noting that he has remained relevant in hip-hop without losing momentum. One fan wrote, “Don Toliver is one of the very few rappers that have been holding it down, he’s never falling off.” Another added, “Don really earned that Rolling Loud headliner spot. Top 5 performers right now or nah?” His performance highlights the anticipation surrounding his upcoming album and cements his reputation as a standout performer.
OCTANE, Don Toliver’s fifth studio album, is set to drop on Friday, January 30. While the full tracklist has not yet been revealed, Toliver previously hinted at the album’s direction in an interview with FAULT Magazine last July. He described the project as a reflection of his future and artistic growth, promising a “fun time” for fans. The recent Tonight Show performance gives a glimpse of the energy and sound fans can expect from the full album.
Toliver is also scheduled to headline Rolling Loud in Orlando, Florida, from May 8 to 10 at Camping World Stadium. He will perform alongside Playboi Carti, NBA YoungBoy, Pooh Shiesty, Bossman Dlow, EsDeeKid, Chief Keef, and more. The festival appearance, combined with his new singles and upcoming album, signals a major moment in Don Toliver’s career, reaffirming his place as one of hip-hop’s most dynamic performers.
