The Game Announces First-Ever Gangsta Grillz Mixtape with DJ Drama

The Game stopped by The Cruz Show on Real 92.3 L.A. with major news for fans. Tomorrow, Friday, November 28, he will release his first-ever Gangsta Grillz mixtape, a project created with DJ Drama. According to the Compton rapper, the mixtape, titled as part of his latest work, was written, recorded, and put together in just two days.
In a clip shared on Instagram by The Cruz Show, The Game spoke about the process. “Yeah, it’s gon’ be good, man. It’s my first time doing a Gangsta Grillz. We always talked about it over the years. I went in on Friday, and I’m done. From scratch. Two days. It’s major. [It took me] 48 hours. 19 songs. I recorded, like, 60 songs over the weekend. But we picked 19. […] I’m just being Game.”
The mixtape reportedly involves collaboration with producer Mike N Keys. Fans are eager to hear the result, as The Game is known for his sharp lyricism and ability to deliver over punchy beats. While the quick turnaround might raise questions, the selection of 19 tracks from 60 recorded suggests careful quality control.
In recent years, The Game has released limited solo material, aside from collaborative tracks and a high-profile diss track against Rick Ross last year. This new project represents his return to a full body of work. The release also aligns with broader hip-hop trends, where artists are taking reflective stances while staying culturally relevant.
Recently, The Game ranked the top L.A. rappers on his own list following a Complex feature. He placed himself fifth, after Kendrick Lamar, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, and Tupac Shakur. Other notable names in the upper rankings included Kurupt, DJ Quik, Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, and Xzibit. Fans will be watching to see if the new Gangsta Grillz project influences his future self-assessments.
As 2025 comes to a close, this mixtape is shaping up to be a major release in hip-hop. Fans will soon get a first listen and gauge whether The Game’s rapid, 48-hour process delivers the punch and authenticity expected from the Compton legend.
