Joey Bada$$’ “Dark Aura Tour” Canceled, Fans Left Waiting for Answers
In an unexpected development, Joey Bada$$’ highly anticipated “Dark Aura Tour” has been canceled. The North American tour, originally scheduled to begin October 16 in Boston, was set for 25 cities and included stops in major hubs such as Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Atlanta, and a hometown show in Brooklyn. Special guests Ab-Soul and Rapsody were set to join the Brooklyn rapper for the full run.
The cancellation comes as a shock, as the tour was only announced in August, shortly after Joey Bada$$ released his latest album, Lonely At The Top, last month. The album marked his first full-length project since 2022’s 2000, generating excitement for a tour that fans hoped would bring the record to life on stage.
Ticket holders were first alerted to the cancellation through individual notifications for each date. As of now, neither Joey Bada$$ nor his management has provided an official explanation for the tour being called off. This lack of clarity has fueled speculation, with some fans citing logistical issues, personal reasons, or low ticket sales as potential factors.
Rapsody, who was scheduled to perform as a guest, addressed some of the rumors on X, emphasizing that ticket sales were not the cause. “Guys. Stop being simple,” she wrote. “There are a number of reasons tours get cancelled. Tickets sales was not a reason here. Relax. with love!”
Venues have begun providing information regarding refunds. An Atlanta location that was set to host Joey on November 5 stated: “Due to circumstances out of our control, Joey Bada$$ has to cancel his tour including our Atlanta Date on 11/5. Refunds will be automatically processed. Stay tuned for a date next year!”
Despite the disappointment, fans remain hopeful that Joey Bada$$ and his team will reschedule the tour. In the meantime, listeners will have to rely on Lonely At The Top to fill the void left by the canceled live performances. The sudden cancellation has left a gap in the fall hip-hop calendar, but anticipation for a future tour remains strong among his fanbase.
