Drake’s “What Did I Miss?” Hits Number One, Solidifying His 2025 Dominance

Drake continues to dominate the charts in 2025, showing no signs of slowing down despite high-profile moments like his Kendrick Lamar battle. The Toronto superstar has just added another number one hit to his collection with the lead single from his upcoming album ICEMAN, titled “What Did I Miss?”
According to Billboard, the track now sits at the top of the Rhythmic Airplay chart for the week of August 23, after six consecutive weeks on the chart. This achievement marks Drake’s third number one record of 2025 alone. Earlier this year, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U tracks “NOKIA” and “SOMEBODY LOVES ME” with PARTYNEXTDOOR also reached the top spot, in May and July respectively.
“What Did I Miss?” brings Drake’s total number of number one hits to 42, an unprecedented figure in the current music landscape. The next closest artists include Rihanna with 17, followed by The Weeknd, Chris Brown, Bruno Mars, Lil Wayne, and Usher. Billboard credits a 13% increase in plays on U.S. rhythmic radio stations between August 8 and 14, as reported via Luminate, for the single’s rapid climb.
Drake has also demonstrated remarkable consistency, achieving six number one songs or features in just six weeks. His record for the fastest climb to number one remains 2018’s “In My Feelings,” which reached the top in four weeks.
Fans are now eagerly anticipating the release of ICEMAN, though a firm release date has not been confirmed. Former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel hinted in a recent interview that the album could arrive around late October or early November. “Soon, probably, around the end of October, maybe early November. Birthday coming up. Coming back to Texas after that, I’m going to take him to a game this year. He’s going to Aggie Land,” Manziel said.
While this timeline should be taken cautiously, it suggests that Drake’s chart dominance may continue into the fall. With multiple number one hits already in 2025, the arrival of ICEMAN could further cement Drake’s position as one of the most influential artists in contemporary music.
