Offset Explains Why Gunna Is His Favorite Collaborator

Offset has built a career working with some of the biggest names in hip hop. From Drake and Travis Scott to his fellow Migos members, the Atlanta rapper has delivered hits with a wide range of artists. Still, when asked who his favorite collaborator is, Offset had a quick answer: Gunna.

During his recent interview on the Full Send Podcast, Offset was asked who feels the most “automatic” to make music with. Before the question was even finished, he named Gunna. Offset explained that their chemistry comes naturally. “We just know the pockets to be in, bounce off each other with good ideas,” he said.

The mention of Gunna raised another topic. Many in the industry have distanced themselves from him following his plea deal in the YSL RICO case in December 2022. The deal allowed him to walk free, but critics accused him of cooperating with authorities. That created tension with Young Thug and others tied to YSL.

Podcast host Kyle Forgeard asked if Offset had faced any backlash for continuing to work with Gunna. Offset dismissed the idea. “Don’t be my business, so, nah. I don’t see no flak,” he said. He made it clear he has no interest in getting caught up in disputes outside the music.

Offset also revealed that Gunna has given him meaningful advice since the controversy. According to him, Gunna taught him to block out negativity and focus on what matters. “He taught me a valuable lesson too: tune sh*t out and get to what people really love you for,” Offset shared.

That mindset seems especially relevant for Offset, who is currently dealing with personal challenges. His split from Cardi B has drawn constant attention from her fans, many of whom criticize him publicly.

The conversation tied back to Offset’s latest release, KIARI, which dropped on August 22. The project has already received strong feedback from fans and critics. Standout tracks include “Different Species” featuring Gunna, “Bodies” with JID, “Enemies,” and “Love You Down.”

Offset also opened up during the interview about personal topics, including why he has no plans to marry again and his experiences working with Drake. But his comments on Gunna stood out, showing how much he values the creative bond they share.

Offset has worked with a long list of stars, but for him, the partnership with Gunna feels effortless. That chemistry, paired with his focus on growth and resilience, continues to push his career forward.
