Nicki Minaj and Dez Bryant End Heated Exchange with Public Apologies

Nicki Minaj and former NFL star Dez Bryant traded sharp words online less than a week ago, but both have now issued public apologies.

The dispute began when Bryant referenced Roc Nation’s role in securing his $70 million contract extension. Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones later cited those negotiations as a reason he prefers to deal directly with players instead of their agents, a comment tied to his ongoing contract dispute with defensive end Micah Parsons.

The mention of Roc Nation sparked a reaction from Minaj, who has a tense history with the company. Their exchange quickly escalated. Minaj referenced Bryant’s past legal issues, while Bryant brought up her husband, Kenneth Petty, who is a registered sex offender. At one point, Minaj even offered Bryant $10 million to fight Petty. Bryant declined, though the idea became a source of jokes online.

This week, the tone shifted. Both took to X (formerly Twitter) to apologize.

“I really don’t like the misunderstanding we had between each other,” Bryant wrote. “I apologize for bringing up your husband’s past. It’s a shame only negative things make headlines between two Black people who have so much influence on our community. The last thing I wanna do is argue over stupid s**t.”

Minaj accepted the apology. “Nothing makes me respect someone more than a public display of accountability,” she said, still joking about the proposed fight but wishing Bryant “all the best.”

Bryant has called himself a fan of Minaj in the past. While their views on Roc Nation remain far apart, the public reconciliation marks a rare quick resolution to a celebrity feud. Both now appear focused on moving forward rather than continuing public clashes.
