Gunna’s ‘The Last Wun’ Set for Top Five Billboard 200 Debut

Gunna’s latest album, The Last Wun, is on track for a strong debut on the Billboard 200. Early projections place the project at number three on the chart with around 90,000 equivalent units sold in its first week.

This marks the Atlanta rapper’s final release with longtime label YSL Records. The opening numbers are nearly identical to his 2023 album One of Wun, which moved 91,000 units in its debut week and reached number two.

While The Last Wun is performing well, the figures show a drop from Gunna’s commercial peak. His 2022 project DS4Ever entered at number one, selling 150,000 units in its first week and holding off The Weeknd’s Dawn FM. That release came just months before Gunna’s arrest as part of the high-profile RICO case against YSL.

In the lead-up to The Last Wun, Gunna took time to thank fans for their loyalty during his legal troubles and the controversies that followed. Speaking with will.i.am for Uproxx, he described his return to live performances as unforgettable.

“It’s one of the best feelings in the world, that I’ll never forget,” Gunna said. “I never take it for granted. I can just go back to that time and be like, ‘Man, my fans really came through for me.’ I got die-hard fans, for sure.”

He also shared a message for supporters. “First, thank you for being with me. And never give up. Don’t stop, especially when they want you to stop. That’s when you really push. Pray until something happens. A lot of things will pull you down… when you get over the hump, you feel stronger.”

With The Last Wun continuing to gain traction, Gunna appears set to maintain his position as one of rap’s most consistent chart performers. The project’s first-week results will be confirmed when Billboard updates the chart rankings next week.
