Doja Cat Announces New Album “Vie” Set for September 26

Doja Cat has officially announced her highly anticipated fifth album, Vie, which is set to release on September 26. The announcement came on Thursday, August 14, featuring a trailer by Normies Nightmare and an Instagram caption reading, “Je sais que tu es ma vie.”

The album was first teased in March and will arrive a week before Taylor Swift’s Life of a Showgirl. Doja confirmed in July that Vie will be pop-driven, marking a return to the genre she has explored throughout her career. “I do want to be self-aware enough to admit the fact that this is a pop-driven project,” she said. “Pop is just that—it’s popular. There are some people who don’t see it as music. They see it as if this is some kind of football for girls and gays.”

Fans reacted enthusiastically to the announcement across social media. Many expressed excitement to hear Doja Cat’s latest work and shared anticipation for her upcoming tour. “Counting down the days until we hear what Doja’s been cooking up,” one X user wrote. Another fan commented on Instagram, “Come to France Doja … we are waiting for you.”

Expectations for Vie remain high, with fans predicting a mix of hit tracks, energetic performances, and the signature chaos and memes that accompany Doja Cat’s previous eras. “Doja’s about to feed us again — and if ‘Vie’ is anything like her last eras, expect bangers, chaos, and memes on standby,” an X user tweeted.

The release date also sparked discussion about timing in relation to Taylor Swift’s album, with some fans noting the proximity. One user tweeted, “THE WEEK BEFORE TAYLOR OH SHES TAKING IT,” while another added, “A week before Taylor Swift is risky.”

With Vie, Doja Cat is poised to continue her pop resurgence, delivering fresh music while keeping fans engaged in the build-up to the release and the supporting tour.
