Doechii Abruptly Cancels Festival Appearances

Doechii has pulled out of all scheduled festival appearances on short notice. The TDE rapper was set to perform at London’s All Points East festival on Saturday, August 23, but organizers announced she would no longer be attending.

“Unfortunately, Doechii will no longer be able to perform at All Points East on Saturday August 23. We’d like to apologise to any disappointed fans and hope to welcome Doechii to All Points East in the future,” the festival said in a statement.

Following the announcement, Forwards Bristol in the UK and Rock En Seine in Paris, France, confirmed that Doechii had cancelled their shows as well. None of the festivals offered a reason for her cancellations.

Despite the sudden changes, Doechii is still scheduled to embark on her Live From the Swamp tour in October. The rapper has not publicly explained the reasons behind the last-minute cancellations.

Earlier this year, Doechii, known for her track “Anxiety,” made headlines for speaking out against Donald Trump’s immigration raids in Los Angeles. During her BET Awards acceptance speech, she criticized the use of military forces against protesters.

“There are ruthless attacks that are creating fear and chaos in our communities in the name of law and order,” she said. She added, “Trump is using military forces to stop a protest. I want you all to consider what kind of government it appears to be when every time we exercise our democratic right to protest, the military is deployed against us. What type of government is that?”

Doechii concluded her statement by emphasizing her role as an artist. “People are being swept up and torn from their families. I feel like it’s my responsibility as an artist to use this moment to speak up for all oppressed people … We all deserve to live in hope and not fear. I hope we stand together.”

The cancellations mark an unexpected development in Doechii’s career, leaving fans speculating on the reasons while looking forward to her upcoming tour.
