Clipse Bring Out Kendrick Lamar During Los Angeles Stop of Let God Sort Em Out Tour

Clipse officially kicked off the Let God Sort Em Out Tour on August 3. Since then, they have touched down in major cities like Boston, Manhattan, and their hometown Virginia Beach. On Saturday, August 23, the duo made their way to Los Angeles for a performance at The Novo, where fans witnessed an unforgettable surprise.
Kendrick Lamar joined Pusha T and Malice on stage for a live rendition of their new collaboration “Chains & Whips.” It was the first time all three artists performed the track together in person. The crowd erupted as Lamar delivered his verse, cementing the moment as one of the highlights of the tour so far.
Lamar chose not to perform any of his own music. Instead, he redirected attention back to Clipse, calling them “motherf***ing legends” before leaving the stage to watch the rest of the show as a fan. His brief but impactful appearance underscored the respect he holds for the Virginia Beach icons.
The night also carried a sense of history for Lamar. The Novo has been a meaningful venue throughout his career. In October 2012, just days before releasing good kid, m.A.A.d city, he performed two full sets at the same space when it was still called Club Nokia. Five years later, he returned to share the stage with SZA during her Ctrl tour for “Doves In The Wind.” His reappearance in 2025 alongside Clipse added another chapter to his ongoing connection with the venue.
The North American leg of Clipse’s tour continues through September, with festival dates lined up soon after. In November, they will appear at Dia De Los Deftones at Petco Park in San Diego. The duo will then perform at Tyler, The Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw at Dodger Stadium on November 15, which will mark their final U.S. date before heading to Europe for the rest of the month.
The Let God Sort Em Out Tour has already delivered powerful performances, surprise moments, and a reminder of Clipse’s legacy. With Kendrick Lamar’s co-sign in Los Angeles, anticipation continues to build for the next stops on their journey.
