Chance The Rapper Drops “Just A Drop” Video as Star Line Era Gains Momentum

Chance The Rapper is fully back in the spotlight with the release of his first studio album in more than six years, Star Line. The project arrived earlier this month with features from Young Thug, Lil Wayne, Vic Mensa, and Jay Electronica, who appears on the track Just A Drop. Today, Chance gave fans more to celebrate by releasing the official music video for the mellow, reflective song. The visuals follow him trekking through the wilderness, a fitting backdrop for the spiritual themes at the heart of the record.

The rollout for Star Line has been met with strong praise. Fans and critics alike are calling it one of the most notable comeback albums of the year. Chance himself acknowledged the support on X, expressing gratitude to his listeners, collaborators, and loved ones. “Thank you to anyone who listened to my new album #starline last night,” he wrote. “Imagine how scary it was to drop that. I just want to thank my team and fans and family who made every step I took possible. Thank you to the artists and musicians who were willing to collaborate and create with me. And I thank God’s unchanging hand.”
Momentum continues to build as Chance prepares to hit the road. His And We Back tour kicks off September 26 in Houston and will wrap up in Los Angeles in October. The 15-stop run includes major cities like Philadelphia, New York, Boston, Toronto, and Chicago. Tickets are already available, and anticipation for the shows is growing with each new Star Line update.
Outside of music, Chance has also been navigating personal changes. Earlier this year, his divorce from longtime partner Kirsten Corley was finalized. Speaking on CBS Mornings this month, he shared how co-parenting has become a priority. “You know, family is one of the biggest things for me, for her, for my kids, for my mom and dad,” he said. “So I think the most important thing for anybody that’s having to navigate that is making sure you keep an environment for the kids where they understand that’s the priority.”
With a celebrated new album, a fresh set of visuals, and a national tour on the horizon, Chance The Rapper appears focused on both his artistry and his role as a father. Star Line not only marks his return but also signals a new chapter filled with renewed creativity and personal growth.
