Busta Rhymes to Receive Hollywood Walk of Fame Star with Star-Studded Ceremony

Hip-hop legend Busta Rhymes is set to be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this Friday in Los Angeles, marking a milestone in his illustrious 35-year career. The ceremony will be hosted by renowned radio personality Big Boy and will feature appearances from iconic figures such as LL Cool J, Chris Rock, and Chuck D, all confirmed as guest speakers.

Reflecting on the honor during an interview with CBS Mornings, Busta Rhymes expressed gratitude and a sense of divine timing. “Thirty-five years of professional recording is a long earning of my rite to passage. I’m just glad they decided it’s time for me. Everything is divine timing,” he said. “For me, the longer that you waited, the longer that my speech is gonna be.”

Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, shared the organization’s enthusiasm about adding Busta to Hollywood’s iconic sidewalk. “The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will be adding Busta Rhymes, one of hip-hop’s most enduring and electrifying voices, as a new member of Hollywood’s iconic sidewalk,” Martinez stated, as reported by Billboard. “His talent and influence are undeniable. His star on the Walk of Fame will stand as a testament to his lasting impact on hip-hop music and how important it is to the American culture.”

Following the Walk of Fame ceremony, Busta Rhymes will continue to promote his upcoming album, Vengeance. During the CBS Mornings interview, he teased the project, promising fans a familiar yet evolved sound. “Everything you have known to love me for is going to be part of this package, but there’s gonna be a whole lot of things that I’m finally becoming comfortable enough to share and add to the legacy,” he revealed.

Busta Rhymes joins a prestigious list of hip-hop artists recently honored with stars on the Walk of Fame, including Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and 50 Cent. Looking ahead, The Wrap reports a star-studded lineup of future honorees for 2025, including Keith David, Emily Blunt, Timothée Chalamet, Miley Cyrus, Rami Malek, Rachel McAdams, Demi Moore, Shaquille O’Neal, Noah Wyle, and the late Tony Scott.
