Tyler, The Creator Makes Hollywood Debut in A24’s ‘Marty Supreme’ Set for Christmas Day Release

Tyler, The Creator is set to expand his creative reach beyond music and fashion, making his big-screen debut in the upcoming A24 film Marty Supreme. Known for his decade-long dominance in hip hop and his influential Golf Wang clothing line, Tyler will now bring his talent to Hollywood in what could be one of the year’s most talked-about releases.

Marty Supreme was first announced by A24 in July 2024. The film is directed and co-written by Josh Safdie, the filmmaker behind the acclaimed 2019 crime thriller Uncut Gems. Safdie teams up once again with Ronald Bronstein, his Uncut Gems co-writer, promising a similarly bold and unconventional vision.

The movie boasts a star-studded cast, with Timothée Chalamet and Gwyneth Paltrow in lead roles. While the plot details were initially scarce, early reports revealed the story is loosely inspired by the life of professional ping pong legend Marty Reisman. Reisman, who passed away in 2012, was considered one of the greatest players in the sport, winning 22 major titles and five bronze medals at the World Table Tennis Championships between 1946 and 2002. Despite this inspiration, Marty Supreme will be an original, fictional narrative rather than a strict biopic.

Tyler’s role in the film remains under wraps, but more information is expected with the release of the first official trailer tomorrow. Timothée Chalamet teased the drop on Instagram, posting, “👀 TMRW 🤭,” alongside the movie’s promotional poster. The poster, also shared by Tyler, shows Chalamet in a USA Olympic-style tracksuit with the tagline, “Dream big.”

With its Christmas Day release date, Marty Supreme is positioned as a high-profile holiday launch. For Tyler, this marks a significant milestone in his career, adding acting to an already impressive list of accomplishments in music, fashion, and culture. Fans will not only get a new side of Tyler but also a glimpse of him working alongside some of Hollywood’s biggest names in a daring A24 production.
