Top 10 Most-Streamed Rap Artists Of 2021 So Far! Today being April 1st, is a stark reminder that we’ve officially kicked off the second quarter of 2021.With that said, there couldn’t have been a more perfect time to reflect on the music of 2021’s first quarter. In reality, 2021 may not have been the biggest year so far, as there has been very little in terms of high-profile releases just yet. Nevertheless, that hasn’t deterred the numbers from trickling in, and thanks to DJ Akademiks, we now get a glimpse of the most streamed rap artists so far. Akademiks recently took some time to share a tally of the top ten most-streamed rap artists of the past three months.
Drake tops the list with a decent margin, boasting a staggering 1.98 billion, unsurprising given the fact that he recently released a new EP in Scary Hours 2. Following him in a distant position 2 is Juice WRLD, a streaming juggernaut albeit posthumously with his existing projects boosting his tally to 1.52 Billion streams. Superstar Lil Baby takes third position with 1.50 billion, while the late Pop Smoke earns his throne at the fourth spot with 1.25 billion streams.
Lil Durk, who recently had the biggest year of his career in 2020, took the wave a notch higher into 2021 with 1.06 billion. DaBaby occupies 6th place with 816 million, while Kanye West comes in 7th place with 748 million. Moneybagg Yo, who is sitting on the verge of his new album (which may or may not be titled A Gangsta’s Pain), enjoys 8th place with 644 million, while Machine Gun Kelly – rapper turned rockstar slides into 9th place with 608 million. Wrapping up the list is NF, who locks down 10th place with 586 million.
Suffice to say that this list gives a fair view of the rap landscape at the moment, but it’s worth noting that it’s subject to change given the number of heavy hitters who are yet to drop. This is expected to change if and when the likes of J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar finally drop their respective projects.
