Swizz Beatz Wants Kanye West To Perform At DMX’s Memorial

Swizz Beatz Wants Kanye West To Perform At DMX’s Memorial! According to a Page Six report, Swizz Beatz has reportedly asked Kanye West to appear at DMX’s public memorial service.

The ceremony for the fallen Hip-hop heavyweight is slated to take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York City this Saturday (April 24).The 19000 Capacity venue will see COVID-19 restrictions and protocols observed during the ceremony. The event will be followed by a private service for DMX’s close friends and family which is set to take place in a church the following day.

In May 2019, DMX had previously said a prayer at one of Kanye’s Sunday Service events. Speaking to GQ about the experience, the rapper had the following to say;

“I wouldn’t call it a church service,” said DMX. “There’s no word. It’s joyful, which God says to do. We about to make a joyful noise. I enjoyed it. It was moving. I didn’t know what to expect, though.”

Kim Kardashian took a video of DMX’s prayer and shared the footage on her Twitter account back then.

Kanye West linked up with DMX back in 2003, for the song “Dogs Out” from his 5th studio album Grand Champ. The soulful track samples Stacy Lattisaw’s 1979 song “Dedicated to the One I Love.”

DMX breathed his last at New York’s White Plains Hospital on April 9 following an alleged drug overdose which led to a heart attack. Swizz Beatz while reacting to the news of DMX’s passing, took to Instagram to announce his devastation. He further revealed that Dark Man X was set to perform in Texas on May 29, but the show is now being turned into a special tribute concert according to a TMZ report.
