DMX Hospitalized After Suffering Heart Attack

DMX Hospitalized After Suffering Heart Attack! Rapper DMX remains hospitalized and on life support in White Plains, New York, following a heart attack on Friday night. The rapper’s longtime lawyer Murray Richman confirmed to CNN on Sunday. Richman said DMX is in “grave condition,” but did not reveal what had caused the heart attack.

The rapper suffered a heart attack Friday around 11 p.m. at his home in White Plains and was rushed to a local hospital via ambulance, where he remains on a ventilator, Richman confirmed. Richman further says he did not know the real cause of the heart attack.

Even as details about DMX’s heart attack remain unconfirmed, TMZ reported that DMX had overdosed on Friday night at his home around 11 p.m., leading to the heart attack. Sources told TMZ that the rapper has “some brain activity,” while others said that he is in a “vegetative state.”

DMX has been quite open about his past struggles with addiction, attending rehab several times. He canceled a series of live performances back in 2019, and checked into rehab for substance abuse after serving 1 year jail term for tax fraud and evasion earlier that year.

Richman revealed he has known DMX for 25 years and confirmed being in touch with the rapper’s family. He said he is aware of the rapper’s medical prognosis, but did not comment on it.

“We ask that you please keep Earl/DMX and us in your thoughts, wishes, and prayers as well as respect our privacy as we face these challenges,” the rapper’s family said in a statement.

DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, came onto the rap scene in the late 1990s with songs including “Get At Me Dog” and “Party Up.” The rapper’s first 5 albums debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts. He is also an actor as listed by IMDb, he boasts more than 40 acting credits under his name. among his most notable are his roles in “Romeo Must Die” which starred R&B star Aaliyah just before her death and “Never Die Alone”.
