Lebron James Has A Message For Kendrick Lamar

Lebron James Has A Message For Kendrick Lamar! At this rate it’s safe to say that Kendrick Lamar‘s music is being missed by many and fans have had to live with that fact. LeBron James took to social media revealing that he too misses Lamar, just like many of his fans. He tweeted, “man I miss Kendrick Lamar!” In the midst of rising racial tensions, police brutality, injustices, the pandemic and so much more going on around the world, Kendrick’s music could provide the much needed solace in these hard times.

The last time a similar tweet came from James asking Lamar to drop new music, it actually worked.

Back in 2016, the Grammy Award winner was performing a series of some of his unreleased tracks on a televised performance. James tagged Lamar’s label CEO, Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith that the songs needed to be released.

Lamar dropped a collection called “Untitled Unmastered,” a week later. Tiffith took to Instagram afterward admitting that James’ request had an influence on the release of the project.

Lamar hasn’t dropped any new music of his own since his 2017 “DAMN” album, which sampled a clip by Fox News criticizing the BET Awards performance. He would later receive a Pulitzer Prize for his social commentary on the project which featured songs like “DNA” that celebrated the Black experience and “Duckworth,” that tells a story of how his father opposed a violent encounter with Tiffith.

Lamar appeared on Busta Rhymes’ “Look Over Your Shoulder” last year in October besides doing some ad-libs for fellow LA rapper Reason’s “New Beginnings” album, which dropped the same month.

Lebron’s recent post comes only a few days after he faced heat for tweeting about the killing of 16-year-old Ma’Khia Bryant by the Police. He would later delete his post, which demanded for accountability from the police officer involved in the same vein as Derek Chauvin, who was found guilty of two murder charges on Tuesday for killing George Floyd.

The reactions to James’ tweet were in agreement with the fact that it is high time we got some new music from the Compton superstar.

We too hope we’ll get to hear from him soon.
