Wife of ex-officer, Derek Chauvin files for divorce

The wife of Derek Chauvin, the ex-officer involved in the George Floyd has filled for divorce according to a lawyer from Sekula Law offices.

Her attorneys said that she is seeking the “dissolution of her marriage” to Chauvin.

Kellie Chauvin also does not have any children from her current marriage, as per the attorney’s letter. It was also not mentioned how long the couple have been married.

According to @WCCO, the statement reads: “This evening, I spoke with Kellie Chauvin and her family. She is devastated by Mr. Floyd’s death and her utmost sympathy lies with his family, with his loved ones and with everyone who is grieving this tragedy. She has filed for dissolution of her marriage to Derek Chauvin.”

The statement continued: “While Ms. Chauvin has no children from her current marriage, she respectfully requests that her children, her elder parents, and her extended family be given safety and privacy during this difficult time.””
