Joey Badass launches campaign to support homeless students during this pandemic

Joey Badass partners up with NY schools and The Fund for Public Schools to create a campaign that aims to support homeless students during covid-19. He says that he is donating $25k and would love the public to join in and support by either reposting or contributing any amount through the link in his bio.

o-Vaughn Virginie Scott was born on January 20, 1995, and was the first of his immediate Caribbean family to be born in the United States. His family originated from the island of St. Lucia in the Caribbean on his mother’s side. He is Jamaican on his father’s side. He was born in the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn, New York City, New York. He was raised in Bed-Stuy and attended the Edward R. Murrow High School. He originally enrolled at Edward R. Murrow to study acting, but transitioned towards music around the time of 9th grade, with a focus on rapping.

For someone who grew up in a place like Brooklyn and also attended a public school it is easier for him to know and understand the struggles students face out there because he has either seen them or experienced them. Giving back to the community is a great way to show that he understands their situation and would like to be one of the people willing to help a student struggling as this one gesture could take them out of their current situation eventually.

This is what he captioned his post on instagram:

“Super proud to launch this campaign in conjunction with @thefundforps & @nycschools to support NYC’s homeless students during this Covid-19 crisis. I’m donating $25K and would love your support, either as a repost and/or contribution of any size–every $ counts! LINK IN BIO! Please say “NYC YOUTH” in the comment section at the bottom of the page. ????? Special Thanks to @filmsbylevi @powerspleasant & @sophchangnyc for helping me pull this together.
