Ice Cube  Drops New Single “Trying To Maintain” A couple of years have gone by since Ice Cube released his tenth studio album Everythang’s Corrupt, his first since 2010’s I Am The West. Everythang’s Corrupt came along with 16 tracks with additional assists from Shameia Crawford and Too $hort,having been preceded by the singles “Arrest The President” and “Good Cop, Bad Cop.” Since then, the hip hop legend has been actively engaged in matters politics becoming one of the most vocal artists in regards to bringing needed change into the community — a cause he continues to pursue post-Trump.

Today, Ice Cube makes a grand return to the music scene with his new single “Trying To Maintain,” which keeps with the socially charged subject matter while also sending a message to many of Cube’s more recent detractors:

“To everybody tryin’ to maintain, with a little Mary Jane on the campaign, we buy you in the fast lane, only act like this ‘cause the black ain’t, fuck your cancel culture, bitch, you can’t cancel a soldier, quit/ See, I thought I told ya, drunk or sober, tell you when it’s over, slap the shit out a troller, I kill shit like Ebola/”

The new single dropped midnight yesterday. He had earlier sent out a message announcing the upcoming release.

“Dropping on all platforms at midnight EST…” he tweeted.

Ice Cube sent out a message on twitter asking his fans to check out his new single. “Come listen to my new banger TRYING TO MAINTAIN”, he tweeted.

While appearing on a recent recent interview with MAJIC 107.9’s “Ryan Cameron Uncensored” show, he revealed that Biden’s administration have reached out to him regarding his polarizing Contract with Black America proposal.

“We haven’t talked yet. We’re just starting to figure out when we can have this meeting and how we’re gonna have it. … I believe it’ll go down sometime this month.”
