Jim Jones Slams Clipse New Single Ace Trumpets in Latest Interview

Jim Jones has reignited his long-standing feud with the Clipse, slamming their latest single “Ace Trumpets” in a new interview that proves there’s still no love lost between the Dipset rapper and the Virginia duo.
Speaking to Bootleg Kev at the 2025 BET Awards, the Harlem native didn’t hold back when asked about the newly released track by Pusha T and No Malice. “What’s so great about it?” Jones questioned. “It’s good in what? The nostalgic value of it? I don’t believe it. I don’t believe it, I don’t believe them.”
While Jim was quick to clarify that he wasn’t trying to diminish anyone’s artistry, he made it clear that he’s never been a fan. “That’s a whole other story and I don’t wanna downplay nobody’s craft… but I don’t listen to their music and never have. I don’t recall too many records that I can remember.”
Pusha T has yet to respond to the latest criticism, but this isn’t the first time the Clipse lyricist has been in Jim Jones’ crosshairs. Their tension dates back to at least 2023, when Jones scoffed at Pusha T being included in a “Top Rappers of All Time” list. At the time, he questioned Pusha’s legacy in the culture, saying: “What has he done that puts him in the greatest rappers of all time? Besides talk about cocaine that he probably didn’t get himself.”
While Jones acknowledged Pusha’s lyrical talent, he argued that impact goes beyond bars. “He could rap his ass off, but what has he done? Nobody has dressed like him. Nobody want to be like Pusha T. I don’t remember nothing.”
That comment sparked a fiery response from Pusha T, who premiered a scathing diss track during Louis Vuitton’s 2023 Paris fashion show. On the track, Pusha rapped:
“Beware of my name, that there’s delegate / You know I know where you’re delicate / Crush you to pieces, I’ll hum a breath of it / I will close your heaven for the hell of it.”
He continued with:
“You chasing a feature out of your element / And those lab diamonds under inspection / The question marks block your blessings.”
Since then, Pusha has remained unfazed by industry critics and doubled down on lyrical warfare, most recently turning his attention to Travis Scott. On Clipse’s single So Be It, Pusha fired another round of lyrical venom, fueling yet another high-profile feud.
As for “Ace Trumpets,” the latest track from Clipse has garnered praise for its gritty production and introspective verses, with fans hailing it as a return to the duo’s classic sound. But for Jim Jones, nostalgia and lyrical prowess aren’t enough.
Whether this sparks another lyrical showdown remains to be seen, but if history is any indication, Pusha T may not let this one slide for long. In hip-hop, where reputations are forged in bars and beats, the battle lines between Jones and the Clipse remain as bold as ever.
