Doja Cat and Doechii Exchange Love as They Dominate Female Rap

Doja Cat and Doechii are proving that mutual admiration goes a long way in hip-hop. Over the weekend, the two stars shared a heartfelt exchange on social media, highlighting their respect for each other as they continue to lead the charge in female rap.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Doja Cat showed love to the rising Florida-bred artist, whom she previously invited to join her on the Scarlet Tour in 2023.

“Doechii is MY inspiration. Doechii is here to STAY,” Doja declared in a post.

It didn’t take long for Doechii to respond with an equally enthusiastic message.

“I love you I love you I love you,” she wrote. “You maintain EXCELLENCE in RAP! You are an ICON. You are THEE performer and artist we all know we can count on to make cool ART. Keep shittin on everybody boo, nobody fuckin whichu. V coming soon bitches.”

Doja Cat, never one to shy away from colorful expressions, responded: “I love you too, pimp. Thank you and never stop making people move or I’ll cut my clit off.”

Doechii Hints at Doja Cat’s Upcoming Album Vie

Doechii’s mention of V coming soon refers to Doja Cat’s highly anticipated album Vie, which the “Say So” hitmaker confirmed earlier this year. While details remain scarce, Doja previously previewed snippets of the project at an intimate Airbnb fan event around her birthday in October 2024. According to attendees, the album features a blend of pop and R&B sounds, signaling another sonic shift for the genre-bending artist.

Vie will follow 2023’s Scarlet, which spawned the chart-topping hits “Paint The Town Red” and “Agora Hills.” Doja later expanded the project with Scarlet 2 CLAUDE, a deluxe edition released in April 2024.

Doja Cat and Doechii Lead the Wave in Female Rap

Beyond their admiration for each other, Doja Cat and Doechii are also dominating the rap game in terms of streaming numbers.

According to new Spotify statistics released on April 1, Doechii currently sits atop the list of female rappers with the most monthly listeners, boasting nearly 60 million. Doja follows closely behind with 56.5 million. Rounding out the top five are Nicki Minaj (45.1 million), Cardi B (28 million), and Megan Thee Stallion (26.4 million).

With their artistry, confidence, and undeniable impact, both Doja Cat and Doechii continue to push the boundaries of female rap, proving that there’s plenty of room at the top for talent, innovation, and mutual support.
