2021 Most Anticipated Upcoming Hip-Hop Albums –If you are a Hip-Hop fan and you aren’t “hungry” for new Hip-Hop music already this year then something is definitely wrong. True Hip-Hip fans are known for their desire for more. 2020 had quite a number of quality Hip-Hop albums released that at least made the pandemic bearable for many of us.

In spite of this, Hip- Hop fans across the world already have their eyes set on what 2021 has in store for them.

As we bid good-bye to 2020, 2021 comes with a ray of hope for the music industry and the world at large as the end of the pandemic draws nigh. With the promise of COVID 19 vaccines almost here and many artists gearing up to release the much delayed albums thanks to the pandemic, 2021 is the promise of hope we all needed.

Here are 2021 Most Anticipated Upcoming Hip-Hop Albums.

10. J.I.D – TBD

Despite his young career, J.I.D has 2 fabulous albums already in 2017’s The Never Story and his latest, the wildly-acclaimed Dicaprio 2. The Atlanta based rapper has hinted at new music dropping soon and we are following him closely

9. SZA – TBD

SZA did not abandon her fans during the lockdown entertaining them via Instagram Live.

The artist realeased “Hit Different” featuring stunning vocals from Ty Dolla $ign and an amazing production from Chad Hugo and Pharrell in recent years. “Good Days” was defintely SZA’s Christmas gift to the world, a passionate song backed with the lush soundscape of Jacob Collier’s vocals. Though it remains unknown if an album is on its way, we’re still hopeful..

8. Travis Scott – Utopia

The 28-year-old rapper has become a favorite to youth across the world. Fans are looking forward to a star-studded cast that could include Don Toliver, Future, Roddy Ricch, Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker and Young Thug. Utopia will mark Scott’s fourth studio album and if all goes well, will stamp his authority as a Hip Hop legend.

7. Megan Thee Stallion & Q-Tip – TBD

Megan Thee Stallion is a Hip Hop queen who needs no further introduction. Megan and Q-Tip, the iconic producer and MC from A Tribe Called Quest, is a surprise but quite welcome collaboration. “Q-Tip is an album thing,” Megan disclosed in a 2019 Rap Caviar interview,” which Q-Tip confirmed in a November Tweet simply saying “Yes! 2021!”

6. Rihanna – R9

“It’s going to be worth it,” Rihanna told Entertainment Tonight in a July 2019 interview.

It’s been over a year since, and while very little has been learned since fans are still keeping hope alive.

Pharrell has reportedly worked on what fans nicknamed R9, which (as the title suggests) would mark the Barbadian singer’s ninth studio album.

5. Lil Durk & Metro Boomin – No Auto Durk

In Feb 2020, a collabo between Metro Boomin and Lil Durk was announced but subsequently delayed. Though the status of the album remains unclear, still fans are expectant for what this year brings

4. Drake – Certified Lover Boy

Drake is without a doubt one of the most famous artists in the world.  Certified Lover Boy was delayed as a result of Drake’s ACL injury but  is expected to drop later this month.

3. Pusha T – TBD

Pusha T has announced his forthcoming album will be entirely produced by a Ye x Pharrell x Chad Hugo duo, The Neptunes.

2. J. Cole – The Fall Off

In mid-December, Twitter was abuzz with rumors J. Cole’s highly anticipated follow-up to 2018’s KOD would arrive at midnight. To the disappointment of many, fans were placated with the video to “Fire Squad” from 2014 Forest Hills Drive. Nonetheless, that hasn’t stopped the intense countdown to Cole’s The Fall Off, (maybe?) set to drop this coming year.

1. Kendrick Lamar – TBD

Kendrick Lamar fans have been waiting since 2017’s DAMN. for new tunes from the Compton-born MC. He’s drawn ire from fans critiquing his slow release speed, while others trust in the artist’s creative process. This past year finally brought new sightings of the reclusive K. Dot filming music videos in Los Angeles, alerting fans to something.
